NOTD - Mermaid Spell (holo nail polish)

     Hello, ladies.

     Today I’m gonna cut right to the chase, because I’m short on time (I’m dealing with this pretty often lately).

     I’m gonna talk to you about two Layla nail products and gonna show you what they can do: ““Hologram Effect Base File” and “Hologram Effect Nail Polish – 06 Mermaid Spell”.

     Astazi voi trece direct la subiect, pentru ca sunt presata de timp (ma tot confrunt cu problema asta in ultima vreme).

     O sa va vorbesc despre si o sa va arat ce pot face doua produse de unghii marca Layla: “Hologram Effect Base File” si “Hologram Effect Nail Polish – 06 Mermaid Spell”.

      Until now, I’ve tried three nail buffers who, basically, make the nail smoother and shinier: Elf, Essence and another one, which I don’t remember. They were all ok-ish, meaning that they did what they promised and I was kinda satisfied with the results, but I wanted more: faster smoothing and more shine. When I got in my hands the Layla nail file I looked at it like it was an alien, because the only infos were that “it prepares the nail for the holo nail polish” and how to use it. I honestly had no idea what “preparing the nail for the holo nail polish” means – I felt like a retarted, but that’s just between you and me :)).

     But I tried it and I like the result. It’s easy to use, I like it that it has oblique ends, so I can reach every “corner” of my nail. Unlike other buffers I tried before, this is is able to smooth the nail preety fast, my nail looks healthier and it has a reallt cool shine. Actually, this is what I loke most about it, that my nails look like I applied a really shiny top coat.

     Pana acum, am incercat vreo trei pile care sustin ca netezesc si fac unghia sa luceasca: ELF, Essence si inca o firma pe care nu mi-o amintesc. Toate au fost ok-ish, in sensul ca faceau ce promiteau si eram multumita de rezultate, insa parca as fi vrut ceva mai mult de la ele: sa netezeasca mai repede si sa ofere un luciu mai… vizibil. Cand mi-a ajuns in manute pila de la Layla m-am uitat la ea ca la felul 14, pentru ca pe ea scrie ca “pregateste unghia pentru oja holo” si cum s-o folosesti. Sincer, nu stiam exact ce inseamna ca “pregateste unghia pentru oja holo” – m-am simtit ca ultima retardata, dar ramane intre noi :)).

     Dar am incercat-o si chiar sunt multumita de rezultat. Este foarte usor de folosit, imi place ca la capete este taiata oblic, astfel incat poti ajunge cu ea in toate colturile unghiei. Spre deosebire de alte pile asemanatoare, incercate anterior, aceasta netezeste destul de repede suprafata unghiei, o face sa arate mai sanatoasa si ii confera un luciu foarte misto. De fapt, asta-mi place cel mai mult la ea, ca unghiile mele arata ca si cum le-as fi dat cu un lac incolor foarte lucios.

     “06 Mermaid Polish” is my first holo nail polish and I’m relatively satisfied with it.

     It looks really preety on the nail, it’s a metallic baby-blue with purple, green, yellow and pink reflexionts. The colors change with every movement of the hand and I think it’s suitable for special events and, mostly, for the summer time, when your tanned. Another good thing is that it dries really fast, it needs only 2-3 minutes max and then you can use your hands / nails without any fear that you’ll damage the nail polish.

     Unfortunately, it has some negative aspects too: on nail polish layer isn’ț by far enough to provide a full coverage. You need to aplly it in 4 thick layers, which means you’ll consume it preety fast. Also, it chips easily: I applied on my nails six hours ago and it has already chipped of on one of my nails.

     Arata foarte frumos pe unghie, este un bleu metalic cu tente de mov, verde, galben si roz. Culorile se schimba la fiecare miscare a mainii si mi se pare ideala pentru purtat la evenimente speciale si mai ales vara, cand sunteti bronzate. Un alt plus ar fi ca se usuca extrem de repede, in cel mult 2-3 minute puteti sa va folositi mainile / unghiile fara teama ca veti strica manichiura.

     Din pacate, are si minusuri: un singur strat de oja nu este nici pe departe suficient pentru o acoperire completa. Trebuie sa o aplicati in circa 4 straturi, destul de generoase, ceea ce inseamna ca se consuma foarte repede. O alta bila neagra ar fi ca se cojeste extrem de repede. Am aplicat-o pe unghii in urma cu sase ore, iar de pe una dintre unghii deja s-a cojit putin.

     Overall, I like the nail file, but I’m a little dissapointed by the nail polish. Yes, it looks preety on the nils, but you need 4 layers for a full coverage and it chips off fast.

     Per total, pila de unghii imi place, insa sunt cam dezamagita de oja holo. Da, se vede foarte frumos, dar are nevoie de 4 straturi pentru o acoperire perfecta si se si cojeste repede.
