Review - Ansley New York Multi Fit BB Cream

     Hello, ladies.

     It’s been a popular product in the Asian cultures for a long time, but it became mainstream in the western world only after Garnier released it’s own version of the products. I’m talking about BB Cream, a cream that not only promises a high coverage and a moisturizer, but it promises to be a treatement for the skin and to protect it against the UVA / UVB rays.

     I reviewed the Garnier BB Cream HERE and, until recently, I thought it was great. That was till I got the chance to test an asian BB Cream, that made me change my mind about Garnier. I don’t want to be a hypocrite and say that the Skin Perfecting BB Cream from Garnier is not good for me anymore, but at this moment for me it’s just a tinted moisturizer and nothing else.

     The product that made me change my mind about the low/mid end BB Creams is Ansley New York Multi Fit BB cream (SPF50 PA+++ ), available at Glow and Glamour.

     Este un produs popular zonelor asiatice de multa vreme, insa a devenit “faimos” in Occident dupa ce Garnier si-a lansat propria varianta. Este vorba despre BB Cream, o crema ce promite nu doar o acoperire mare si hidratare, ci si sa fie un tratament pentru piele si sa o protejeze contra razelor solare.

     Despre BB Cream-ul de la Garnier v-am vorbit AICI si, pana de curand, credeam ca este minunat. Asta pana cand am avut ocazia sa testez un BB Cream asiatic, care m-a facut sa ma razgandesc in ceea ce priveste Garnier-ul. Nu vreau sa par ipocrita si nu voi spune ca  Skin Perfecting BB Cream de la Garnier nu mai este bun, insa in acest moment pentru mine a devenit o simpla crema coloranta.

     Produsul care m-a facut sa-mi schimb parerea despre BB Cream-urile low / mid-end este Ansley New York Multi Fit BB Cream (SPF50 PA+++), pe care il gasiti pe site-ul Glow and Glamour. 

     Their opinion / Ce spun ei:

     My opinion / Ce spun eu:

     The product, which weighs 80 grams, comes in a plastic tube on the front face of which general information regarding it is displayed. On the back side we find some info in Chinese, i think. I cannot tell you what is written on the backside since i cannot understand any Asian language, but I’m guessing the information is regarding BB Cream and its ingredients. The Packaging of the cream allows the dosage to be precise and the application hygienic. 

     The lid of the tube has a built-in mirror and lipstick that can also be used as a blush. 

     Even though in the pictures the BB Cream appears to be beige, it has actually a pink tone.

     Produsul are 80 de grame si vine ambalat intr-un tub din plastic, pe fata fiind scrise in engleza cateva informatii generale despre produs, iar pe verso niste informatii in… chineza sau japoneza, cred. Nu stiu sa va spun ce scrie pe verso, pentru ca nu am niciun fel de cunostinte in nicio limba asiatica, dar presupun ca sunt trecute informatii despre BB Cream si ingredinte. Ambalajul face ca dozarea sa fie precisa, iar aplicarea igienica.

     Capacul BB Cream-ului are incorporat este “dotat” cu un ruj ce poate fi folosit si pe post de blush, dar si cu o oglinda micuta.

     Desi in poze pare beige, in realitate BB Cream-ul este mai roz.

     What I like about this product:

-         it has a thick consistency, but it’s easy to apply and blend;

-         it doesn’t clog my pores;

-         it provides a medium to high coverage, depending on how much product you want to use; it covers the blemishes, acne and spots, but it doesn’t “hide” the really dark circles, like mine;

-         it makes the skin glow (a little bit too much, if you ask me);

-         it can go a good 8-9 hours before the T zone becomes oily;

-         it can be used as a face primer.

     Ce-mi place la acest produs:

-         Are o consistenta densa, insa se intinde foarte usor;

-         nu-mi incarca tenul;

-         ofera o acoperire medie spre mare, in functie de cat produs doriti sa folositi; “ascunde” destul de bine cosurile, roseata si petele de pe ten, insa nu acopera in totalitate cearcanele evidente, asa cum sunt ale mele;

-         ofera stralucire pielii (cam prea multa, as spune eu);

-         rezista pe ten circa 8-9 ore pana incepe sa luceasca zona T;

-         poate fi folosit pe post de primer pentru fata.

     What I don’t like about this product:

-         the shade is too light for my skin, at least in the summer time, so I need to apply a face powder which is two tones darker than my skin;

-         as I said, it makes my skin too glowy, so it looks like it’s a little bit oily; after I use this BB Cream, I need to use a mattifying powder;

-         it has an almost zero transfer resistance;

-         it becomes kinda sticky once you apply it.

     Ce nu-mi place la acest produs:

-         nuanta este una prea deschisa pentru tenul, cel putin in perioada verii, asa ca este nevoie sa aplic o pudra mai inchisa cu circa doua tonuri;

-         dupa cum spuneam, ofera o stralucire prea intensa pielii, asa ca tenul pare usor gras; este nevoie sa aplic o pudra pentru matifiere;

-         are o rezistenta la transfer aproape de zero;

-         devine cam lipicios dupa ce a fost aplicat pe ten.

     There are moments when I like this BB Cream and moments when I don’t. What really bothers me is it’s low transfer resistance. On the other hand, it has a higher coverage than many of my foundations, which is a big plus. The too light shade it’s not necessarily a minus, because in the winter time it will be just perfect for me. But I still wish it would’ve been a little bit darker, so I could use it in the summer time, instead of a foundation.

     Am momente cand imi place BB Cream-ul acesta si momente cand nu-mi place. Ce ma deranjeaza cel mai mult la el este rezistenta scazuta la transfer. Pe de alta parte, are o acoperire mai buna decat multe dintre fondurile mele de ten, ceea ce e un mare plus. Nuanta prea deschisa pentru tenul meu nu este neaparat un minus, pentru ca la iarna imi va fi tocmai bun, insa as fi vrut sa fie ceva mai inchis pentru a fi folosit si vara, in locul unui fond de ten.

     There’s not too much to say about the lipstick, because it didn’t impress me. The color is to bright for me and, after I aplly it, I must “kiss” a paper napkin a few times till I can get a shade suitable for me. It dries my lips, it bleeds into my lip wrinkles, it tates bad and it doesn’t apply evenly.

     On the other hand, it can be successfully be used as a blush, as you can see in the pictures below.

     Despre rujul din capacel nu sunt multe de spus, pentru ca nu m-a impresionat. Culoarea este prea turbata pentru mine si, dupa aplicare, trebuie sa “pup” un servetel de cateva ori pentru a obtine o nuanta cat de cat potrivita tenului meu. Imi cam usuca buzele, se aduna in “crapaturi”, are un gust neplacut si nici nu se aplica foarte uniform.

     In schimb, este bun pe post de blush, dupa cum puteti vedea in pozele de mai jos.
