Review - Savon de Marseille Made in France (post by Bee)

     Hello, ladies.

     I have always appreciated well made products, of high quality and if they are natural, well, that is the cherry on top. This will be my first review and I would love to share with you some info about this great soap: Savon de Marseille (Marseille Soap) - pure olive oil soap made in France.

     Intotdeauna am apreciat produsele bine facute, de o calitate ridicata, iar daca sunt si naturale, atunci este un bonus bine-venit si apreciat. Acesta va fi primul meu review al unui produs si as dori sa impartasesc cu voi cateva detalii despre acest sapun: Savon de Marseille (Sapun de Marsilia) – sapun din ulei de masline pur, facut in Franta.

     What sets Savon de Marseille apart from other type of similar soaps is the history and tradition behind it. It gives you that vintage, old style feeling when using it, it takes you back in time. The company (French Soaps) that makes it is the only one still making the soap by hand – as it has been for centuries. This soap was produced in the Middle Ages, exactly like it is when you get it. They are poured, mixed and cut manually (resulting in a softer soap - and softer skin). How cool is that?!?

     Ce diferentiaza Sapunul de Marsilia de alte tipuri de sapunuri similare este istoria si traditia care ii stau la baza. Cand il folosesti iti confera acea senzatie de vintage, de stil vechi, ca si cum te poarta inapoi in timp. Firma care il fabrica (French Soaps) este singura care il produce manual, folosind tehnici vechi de secole. Acest sapun este  fabricat la fel ca acum 500 de ani. Este turnat in cazane  speciale, amestecat si taiat manual, rezultand un sapun fin care lasa pielea matasoasa. Nu-i asa ca suna bine?!?

     Savon de Marseille olive oil soap is un-fragranced, but it has a clean, olive oil scent that I really appreciate and love. This soap is versatile. It is gentle, yet removes every trace of makeup and excess oil. It is so moisturizing that I never need to use any body creams or hand lotions. In the shower it has a creamy feel unlike regular soap, leaving skin soft and clean. I used it also to wash my hair with. I was so surprised by the result. After shower my hair felt and looked like I used conditioner.  

Sapunul de Marsilia nu are parfum, dar are un miros curat de ulei de masline, pe care il ador. Acest sapun e foarte versatil. Este delicat, dar in  acelasi timp indeparteaza orice urma de machiaj si ulei. Hidrateaza asa de bine pielea incat nu mai e nevoie sa folosesc lotiuni de corp sau creme pentru maini. Cand fac dus, sapunul il simt pe piele foarte cremos, diferit de sapunurile obisnuite, iar pielea ramane moale si curata. Am folosit sapunul si pentru a-mi spala parul. Am fost placut surprinsa de rezultat. Dupa dus, parul era la fel de fin si stralucitor de parca folosisem balsam de par. 

     Also, another great thing about this soap is that after using it in the shower your skin won’t feel itchy, tight or flaky. It leaves my skin moisturized but not greasy. My skin feels completely hydrated. It leaves me feeling clean, without the typical "residue on your skin" feeling often experienced after using other soaps (like cheap soaps, of bad quality that use tons of chemicals).  

     The texture is silky and solid at the same time. I am pleasantly surprised at how well it cleans and how good I feel about using it. I read that men can use it to replace shaving cream. It lasts incredibly long, this soap is a must have for anyone with dry, sensitive skin. 

     De asemenea, inca o descoperire placuta despre Sapunul de Marsilia este ca dupa ce ai facut baie, pielea nu se va simti uscata, nu vei avea senzatie de mancarime. Pielea este hidratata, dar nu este grasa. Pielea “scartaie” fara a avea senzatia tipica “de reziduuri pe piele” dupa ce folosesti un sapun obisnuit (ma refer la cele ieftine, cu o tona de chimicale, de proasta calitate). 

     Sapunul are o textura matasoasa, fina, dar ferma in acelasi timp. Sunt placut surprinsa cat de bine curata. Citeam ca poate fi folosit de catre barbati in loc de crema de ras. Acest sapun este un ‘must have’ pentru persoanele care au un ten uscat si sensibil, iar o bucata de sapun dureaza mult. 

     To me, this soap is well worth the cost (24.99$). The quality of this soap is amazing, that it virtually replaces a host of other products (body wash, body scrub, and moisturizer). Definitely is worth a try.  

 This soap is sold in different sizes, from 300g to 1000g. I decided to buy the 1000g one and cut it in more manageable pieces.  It is easy to slice through with a sharp knife.

     Chiar daca are un pret destul de ridicat (24.99$), consider ca isi merita banii. Calitatea acestui sapun este nemaipomenita, si costul este justificat deoarece nu mai ai nevoie de alte produse gen body wash, body scrub si crema hidratanta. V-am spuns ca e foarte versatil.

     Acest sapun este vandut in diferite cantitati, de la 300 g pana la 1000g. Eu m-am decis sa-l cumpar pe cel de 1000g si l-am taiat in bucati mici pentru a-l putea folosi. Este foarte usor de taiat cu un cutit ascutit.
