Swatch & Review - MeMeMe products

     Hello, ladies.

     I heard about the MeMeMe products shortly after I became a beauty blogger. Honestly, at first I thought they were somehow made by Benefit – I thought the second one is the “mother” company since their products are so similar – but after a while I discovered they are two different companies with almost identical products. Or, better said, MeMeMe is a dupe of Benefit.

     A few months ago I got in touch with the MeMeMe team in order to test their products.

     Here’s what I got from them.

     Am auzit despre produsele MeMeMe la scurt timp dupa ce am intrat in blogosfera. Ca sa fiu sincera, la inceput am confundat firma cu Benefit – pe cea de-a doua crezand-o companie “mama”, tinand cont ca produsele lor seamana destul de mult - insa intr-un final m-am lamurit si eu ca sunt doua chestii total diferite, dar cu produse aproape identice. Cu alte cuvinte, MeMeMe este dupe-ul lui Benefit.

     Acum cateva luni am intrat in legatura cu cei de la MeMeMe, care mi-au propus sa le testez produsele.

     Iata ce am primit de la ei:

     You probably read Iguanitza’s post and, if you didn’t, I'm asking you to do it because it’s related to what I’m gonna say next.

     The first time I talked to someone from MeMeMe was in may or june 2012. At that time they asked me to do a list of products I want to test and to give them my address. And then there was nothing… As in they ignored me for about two months, when I decided to email them again. I asked them what happened with the package, if they still want to work with me and they talked to me like that was the first time. We went through the same “process”: “give us the list of products and your address and you’ll send you the goodies”.  But once again, I got nothing and they ignored me again. I think you can imagine how upset I was and I felt like they were just screwing with me, especially when I saw that other bloggers got their products. It deosn’t matter if you’re a big or small company, if you want to work with an experienced blogger or with a rookie, you should treat us the same because, in the end, the bloggers are promoting you kinda… for free.

     Probabil ca ati citit postarea Iguanitzei, iar daca nu, va invit sa o faceti, pentru ca are legatura cu ce va voi spune mai departe.

     Prima data am vorbit cu cei de la MeMeMe in mai sau iunie sau 2012. Atunci m-au rugat sa fac o lista cu produsele pe care mi le doresc si sa le dau adresa. Apoi au disparut in ceata. N-au mai dat niciun semn timp de vreo doua luni. Atunci le-am trimis un mail sa-i intreb ce s-a intamplat cu pachetul, daca mai vor sa colaboram si s-au purtat cu mine de parca n-am mai fi vorbit niciodata. Am reluat “procesul” de a face lista cu produse si a le da adresa, dupa care iar au disparut in ceata. Va dati seama ca m-am enervat si mi s-a parut o mare bataie de joc, mai ales cand am vazut ca alte colege de breasla si-au primit pachetele. Nu conteaza ca este o firma mica sau mare, ca vor sa colaboreze cu o ditai bloggerita sau una incepatoare, ar trebui sa ne trateze pe toti la fel pentru ca, intr-un final, au parte de multa promovare cam… gratis.

     Anyway, I decided to leave it be and forget about this whole thing when I heard that Iguanitza had the same problem and resolved the problem after sending them a rough email. I followed her steps and guess what? In a week and a half, in november, I got a package from them and some apologies. And something extra: they accused that it wasn’t nice of me to share my experience with them on Igu’s FB page, where other bloggers have complained about the same nasty attitude of MeMeMe’s employee – a certain C.

     Ma decisesem sa o las balta cand am aflat de la Iguanitza ca a avut aceleasi probleme ca si mine si a rezolvat totul dupa ce le-a trimis un mail mai… dur. Am procedat la fel ca ea si ce credeti? Intr-o saptamana si jumatate, in noiembrie, am primit coletul de la ei cu scuzele de rigoare. Insa pe langa asta, m-au acuzat ca n-a fost frumos din partea sa-mi povestesc experienta public pe FB-ul lui Igu, in romana, alaturi de alte bloggerite care s-au plans de aceeasi atitudine urata din partea angajatului MeMeMe – o anume C.

     But besides the stress and the nerves, I had a pleasant surprise: Seventh Heaven Enriched Moisturising Facebase,  Beat the Blues Oyster Gold and Blush Me! Pink.

     Let’s talk about them:

     Dar lasand de-o parte nervii, am avut parte de o surpriza tare placuta si anume produsele primite: Seventh Heaven Enriched Moisturising Facebase,  Beat the Blues Oyster Gold and Blush Me! Pink.

Seventh Heaven Enriched Moisturising Cream

     The product comes in a transparent, matte glass jar which has the company’s logo, name of the product and the quantity – 30 ml. It has a fine, light texture and a divine perfume. It’s fresh, citrus and floral like (mostly lemongrass and lemon), pretty persistent, but pleasant.

     Produsul este ambalat intr-un borcanel din sticla transparenta mata pe care sunt inscriptionate sigla firmei, denumirea produsului si cantitatea – adica 30 ml. Are o textura fina, usoara, iar parfumul este divin. Are un miros fresh, de citrice si usor floral (predominant lamaita si lamaie), destul de persistent, insa extrem de placut. 

     The cream is highly hydrating, a good thing for my extremly dry skin. The skin is absorbing it fast and I can apply the primer imediately after using the face cream. Also, it makes my skin softer and smoother and I think it makes my pores smaller, but this effect isn’t very obvious.

     Crema este intens hidratanta, un lucru bun pentru pielea mea extrem de uscata. Se absoarbe rapid in piele si pot sa aplic primerul de fata imediat dupa ce am folosit crema. De asemenea, lasa pielea mai fina si cred ca imi si micsoreaza porii, insa efectul nu este foarte vizibil. 

     Two things I don’t like about it. It can’t be used on any skin type, it’s suitable only for dry skin. If it’s used on oily or combination skin it will only increase the sebum production. An second: it doesn’t make the skin radiant, like it says.

     Doua defecte am gasit acestei creme. Primul este ca nu poate fi folosita pe orice tip de ten. Este potrivita doar pentru tenurile uscate, iar pe o piele grasa sau mixta nu va face altceva decat sa intensifice secretia de sebum. Al doilea punct slab este ca nu ilumineaza fata asa cum promite.

Beat the Blues Oyster Gold

     The products comes in a transparent small bottle which has the company’s logo, name of the product and the quantity – 12 ml. It’s a liquid gold highlighter, slightly creamy, which can be applied on the skin using the small bursh attached to the cap. It has to be used after foundation and before powder because, being liquid, it blends better on creamy products.

     Produsul e ambalat intr-o sticluta transparenta pe care sunt trecute sigla firmei, denumirea produsului si cantitatea – 12 ml. Este un iluminator lichid auriu, usor cremos, care se aplica pe piele cu ajutorul pensulei atasata de capac. Trebuie folosit dupa aplicarea fondului de ten si inainte de a folosi pudra deoarece, fiind lichid, se intinde mai bine pe produse cremoase. 

     It gives the skin a delicate glow, as you’ll see in the pictures below and as you’ve noticed at the looks where I’ve used it.

     What I don’t like about it is the brush: it’s a little bit shaggy and suitable only to apply the product on to the skin, not to blend it. For blending I’m using a small stippling brush or the beauty blender.

     Ofera o stralucire discreta pielii, dupa cum vedeti in pozele de mai jos si dupa cum ati observat in machiajele unde l-am folosit.

     Ce nu-mi place la el este pensula: este cam “zbarlita” si potrivita doar pentru a aplica produsul pe piele, nu si pentru a-l intinde. Pentru asta folosesc ori o pensula mica pentru stippling, ori beauty blenderul.

Blush Me! Pink

  

  

     The packaging is cute and classy: it’s black with a few arabesques (or flowers, not sure yet :)) ). It has 8 gr. and a flat fluffy brush.

     The blush has small sparkle particules, is really pigmented and you need to use only a smal amount of product.

     What I don’t like about this product is that it’s chalky.

     Este ambalat intr-o cutie draguta si eleganta de culoare neagra, pe care sunt inscriptionate arabescuri (sau flori, inca nu sunt sigura :)) ). Cantitatea este de 8 grame, iar blush-ul vine insotit de o pensula plata, dar pufoasa.

     Blush-ul are mici particule de sclipici, este foarte pigmentat si trebuie sa folositi o cantitate mica de produs.

     Si acesta primeste o bila neagra de la mine: este foarte prafos.

     Although there is at least one thing I don’t like about each product and there were some… misunderstandings with MeMeMe, I like the products and I’m sure I’m gonna buy some more. And I wil definitely buy the Seventh Heaven Facebase because for me it's the perfect makeup base.

     Desi am gasit cel putin o bila neagra la toate produsele si au fost neintelegeri cu cei de la MeMeMe, per total imi plac si sigur voi cumpara mai multe. Printre ele se va numara si crema de fata, perfecta pentru mine ca baza de machiaj.
