NOTD - Sparklin' rainbows (Swatch & Review KIKO holographic nail polishes - pic heavy!)

     Hello, ladies.

     Today’s post will have tons of pictures and few lines. Why? Because today I will show you the holo nail polishes from KIKO I bought recently: I’ve got all four of them, they are absolutely gorgeous and I couldn’t help myself taking lots of pics.

     Postarea de astazi va contine cateva tone de poze si putin text. De ce? Pentru ca astazi va prezint ojele holografice de la KIKO pe care le-am achizitionat de curand: le am pe toate patru, sunt absolut superbe si n-am putut sa ma abtin sa nu le fac multe poze :D.

     Sper sa va placa.

     Holographic nail polishes are my new “thing”, so when I saw that KIKO had them on sale I couldn’t help myself and I got all four of them: one is turquoise, one is grey, another one is nude-ish / slightly gold and the last one is pink / red.

     The nail polishes are quite liquid and thin, so you need three or even four layers for a full coverage. Each layer must be completely dry before applying the next one, otherwise they will look streaky. The good part is they dry up quite fast, in 2 or 3 minutes. They last on the nails 5 days without using a base coat. I didn’t use any top coat either because it will diminish the holo effect.

     The brush is pretty small, as you can see in the pictures below. It doesn’t bother me, but I would have prefered a more wide one, like the ones from Essence, ‘cause this way I would cover the entire with one stroke.

     The holo effect is more than obvious at three of the nail polishes, the last spectacular being the pink / red one. Still, keep in mind that I took the pictures under artificial light. I wish I could’ve take the pictures under bright sun, but it’s been over a month since I’ve had that.

     Ojele holo sunt o noua pasiune de-a mea, asa ca atunci cand am vazut ca cele de la KIKO sunt la reducere n-am putut sa ma abtin si mi le-am luat pe toate patru: una turcoaz, una gri, una nude-ish / usor aurie si una roz / rosie.

     Ojele sunt destul de lichide si subtiri, asa ca este nevoie de trei sau chiar patru straturi pentru o acoperire perfecta. Fiecare strat trebuie lasat sa se usuce complet inainte de a-l aplica pe urmatorul, in caz contrar vor aparea striatii. Partea buna este ca se usuca extrem de repede, in 2-3 minute. Rezista pe unghii circa 5 zile, iar asta fara vreun base coat. Nu am folosit nici top coat pentru ca asta ar diminua efectul holo.

     Pensula este destul de subtire, dupa cum vedeti si in pozele de mai sus. Nu ma incomodeaza, insa as fi preferat sa fie mai lata, precum cele de la Essence spre exemplu, pentru ca n-ar trebui sa dau cu pensula de 2-3 ori pe fiecare unghie.

     Efectul holo este mai mult decat vizibil la trei dintre oje, cea mai putin spectaculoasa fiind oja roz / rosie / caramizie. Totusi, tineti cont ca am facut pozele in lumina artificiala. Mi-as fi dorit sa le pot face in soare puternic, insa n-am mai avut parte de asa ceva de cel putin o luna.
